Thank you for the response.

So this change isn’t minor—it’s a massive kick in the teeth for service workers.

(Also, I need help understanding how a third party could use service worker registrations …which have a same-origin scope.)

Yes! 7:40pm this evening. Should be good one.

Can you clarify what the previous time limit was for service workers on Safari before deletion?

(Or was there no time limit?)

I’m trying to find out what/if the time limit on service worker registrations was in Safari before this change to 7 days.

Was it a set amount of days? Was it unbounded? @johnwilander?

(Does Chrome or Firefox do anything like this?)

If you don’t know the answer, can you point me to someone who does?

Aw, thank you! 🎶

I’m trying to understand what the expiration time was for service workers across the board before this change to 7 days. Was it 30 days? 90? Indefinite?

What does “classified domains” mean in this context?

Does the 7 day (previously 30 day) time period not apply across the board to any domain that registers a service worker?

With everyone using Google Hangouts right now, I bet loads of people are seeing your lovely work on the Canvas Project:

Hey John, quick question: what was the time period for deregistering service workers (and emptying caches) before this change to 7 days?

(I have it in the back of my mind it was something like 30 days without engagement—is that right?)

You must tweeting from an alternate universe train, right? Because you’re on your way to Manchester to run a workshop on SVG animations tomorrow.
