Everyone at AMP Conf seems really eager to get more analytics and more ads into AMP. But for a user, those aren’t features; they’re bugs.
and well done ads helps your business which can fund a better product
not where I work - people buy Vogue for the ads. (obvs my politics aside here, bc they’re irrelevant)
the point of AMP was to speed up pages that were plagued by ads though right?
oh my, it shows where their priorities lie… sad times for the rest of the web
I feel Less Good about AMP lately. Ads are top of the AMP backlog for BBC News (tbf: along with onward journeys & video playback)
our AMP pages are always the “winner” of our performance monitoring/benchmarks, it would be a shame if that changed :(
