There’s a frightening accurate app for that inaturalist.org supported by a very helpful and enthusiastic community.
There’s a very pretty bird perched on the windowsill of the @Clearleft studio.
Does anyone know what it is? cc. @cpev

Aha!
That’s a red-legged partridge?!
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red-legge… ?? Odd place to find a partridge.
Looks like a partridge.
Right‽
Partridge.
whatbirdisthis.org is very handy. I guess whatbirdisthis.org/red-legged-par… “still lives in southern England”
[https://www.flickr.com/photos/74105777@N00/] Maybe a Red-legged Partridge?
Non-saurian dinosaur
Yes, red-legged partridge - they do wander at this time of year looking for breeding territory, and end up in some odd places. Middle Street’s a new one on me though.
Also: I like the way it’s co-ordinated its beak colour with that building behind.
Wow, that bird is very pretty.
Dinner? (Sad I missed this, it must be very lost, poor old thing).
