As an equestrian, I frequently think of “bot” as in the short form we use for “botfly”, a common parasite that lays its eggs on horses’ legs. I’m always amazed at the high tech things these flies are reportedly able to do!
I know that “bot” is meant to be short for “robot”, but I can’t help reading it as being short for “bottom”
e.g.
“Chatbottoms are the next big thing.”
or
“Optimise your website for searchbottoms.”

“How to train your bottom to answer customer enquiries”
In Dutch bot means rude and blunt (and also bone). For most bot accounts rude is fitting, and I usually interpret it like that in chat/twitter bot contexts.

I know plenty of organisations that speak through their bots.
Time for another browser extension! 😆
Reminds me of Black Adder - “If you don’t behave yourself Mr and Mrs Spank are going to pay a short sharp trip to botty-land!”
