+1 for @jaffathecake proposal
August 13th, 2020
I am really, really disappointed by the back-tracking here.
I thought your proposal was brilliant because it didn’t involve hiding anything.
Hiding by default?
cc @estark37 Fwiw, I’m pretty happy with the proposal, but I’m curious about why it’s full domain rather than ETLD+1.
I don’t think it counts as “back tracking” either. I was pretty clear that my proposal was just my ‘reckons’, backed up by zero user research.
Jeremy you’ve been an inspiration for years. Even more people look up to your work. If I can offer one insight it would be that words like “Disgusting” are not helping when giving feedback. Clearly you are passionate but his is putting the other person in the defensive.
Strong feelings are fine. It means you care deeply. But I’m sure so does Jake. The only reason why it’s worth finetuning the communication is so your message can go across more successfully. Anyway. ✌️
We considered quite a few options, including something very similar to Jake’s idea. Our process was to generate a bunch of ideas, and then use existing user research (mostly lab/survey studies) to decide on one to implement for initial field experimentation. 1/n
