Most single page apps are just giant carousels.
The focus is on portals right now (it isn’t clear to me why those aren’t a good solution). There are some rumblings of a higher level solution but I’m worried it won’t have the fidelity developers will want.
I’ve never actually seen anybody justify SPA transitions with actual business data. They generally don’t seem to increase sales, conversion, or retention. For some reason, for SPAs, managers are all of a sudden allowed to make purely emotional arguments: “it feels snappier”
You are the hero we need Jeremy.
Remember these: simplehtmlguide.com/pagetransition…
> Most single page apps are just giant carousels thanks m8 I’ll add that to the list of reasons not to ever make an SPA if a client wants one
Wait, why not portals? I love that spec and think it’s a huge step forward
A beautiful description of a horrible thing.
Why does everyone hate Spa’s they are awesome. But yes they are just over complicated carousels 😂😂😂
One million percent this.
lol this degree of not listening is why frontend is still so awful
Most SPAs are mediocre recreations of Mac HyperCard apps. 😉
I’m interested in where this idea came from that people use JS frameworks so they can do fancy page transitions. Not my (limited I’ll admit) experience.
Suppose this is true in the sense that you’re clicking a button to transition from one piece of content to another
Amen to this.
