Hearing about TYC 7037-89-1 in Eridanus, a system with six stars (three pairs of binaries), and trying to imagine what it would be like from the surface of a planet to see the sun eclipsed by another sun.

Isn’t this the plot of THE THREE BODY POROBLEM? The answer is that the combined heat of the two suns fries the planet and resets civilisation to zero.
I remember wondering about this reading the Helliconia Trilogy. It’d be fascinating to watch the double shadows merge as the sky darkens a bit.
