It’s incontraverible. Proof of work deliberately wastes copious amounts of energy …by design.

Do we know that BTC will always require proof of work? For instance, ETH is transitioning to proof of stake. I agree that to me Bitcoin sounds like a giant, deliberate waste of energy, but enough smart people do not believe that such that it leaves me open to other options.

If/when that happens (been promised for many years now) I may reconsider. Until then, PoW and any crypto based off it is IMO plain immoral
