I don’t disagree. Content addressing though. That bit sounds nice. Not sure if there’s a sane way to implement it and not sure if the baggage it would require is worth it but I want to poke at that idea a bit more.

This NFT-crypto-web3 shite really is the QAnon of the tech world—“Trust in the plan!”, “Wake up, sheeple—the mainstream media is lying to you”, “Do the research!” (except they hate it if you actually do the research).
I suspect more than a little real world overlap between the QAnon and NFT crowds.
I think there might be some application for the technology (I find the decentralized domains thing interesting for example) but I dislike the attitude although thankfully I’ve not experienced it myself.
Expected better than a half baked hot take from Mr. Keith. Listen to the recent @tferriss web3 podcast episode and consider publishing a more informed opinion. Or just stay in your echo chamber with the rest of the web2 old guard 😉
Here’s a sweet NFT idea and you can have it for free Jeremy. NFTs for your references when you leave a job, that will exist longer than the company or employer possibly can. Build a CV with all your verifiable tokens. This won’t age well, but still fun :))
