Myself and @WiumLie are currently at the same event and we were chatting earlier about this—the concept of “influence” in CSS still strikes me as very powerful …and empowering.

“Some will argue that font families certainly can be parameterized and mixed, others that one should select the request with the highest influence. The issue deserves more research for which this proposal leaves room.” I think variable fonts makes this possible…
