I’m worried about AI coming for our hobbies.
@adactio Someone said on Twitter recently (I forget who) that they had a nightmare where AIs were employed to create all the art, and artists were only employed to fix the images of human hands generated by the AI. I think about it almost daily.
@adactio I play banjo & guitar and there are plenty of human players who are already better than I am (most of them, really) and I don’t let that stop me. Though maybe my neighbors wish it would.
@adactio um but my job is my hobby though 😬

@adactio I’d say I’m constantly worried about capitalism coming for our hobbies. The pressure to monetize ones hobbies is really getting more and more normalized. The “hustle” culture is taking from people the pleasure of doing things they love just for the sake of it.AI will probably worsen that. I don’t believe seing AI manufacturing art will take from us the pleasure of learning, painting, music, sculpture, photography… capitalism is doing that
