@adactio Wellllll, maybe but maybe it’s people who were upset about the former and don’t think Y! deserves the benefit of the doubt anymore.
People who didn’t care when Yahoo deleted terabytes of content are now upset that Yahoo is making use of content people licensed for resale.
@adactio Wellllll, maybe but maybe it’s people who were upset about the former and don’t think Y! deserves the benefit of the doubt anymore.
@maxfenton The fact that it’s Yahoo doing this is irrelevant: it could be Facebook, or Google, or your corner store. The license allows all.
@adactio Oh, for sure. But I think if a startup showed up and said “We put CC-BY images on postcards for $5” we’d be 1/100th as upset.
@adactio I doubt it’s the same people.
@maxfenton …which is nonsensical. The licence doesn’t say “okay for some people to use, but not others.” There’s no CC Read-My-Mind.
@maxfenton @adactio Isn’t that the point of CC-BY? If I made that choice, I don’t think I’d be upset about it.
@adactio who are those people?
.@adactio “Yes, please feel free to use my images however you’d like. Except you Yahoo!, not you. You’re not allowed.”
@adactio nobody understands CC
