@adactio Is this angular in general or someone’s idea of being smart?
January 23rd, 2015
Visiting an AngularJS website with Opera Mini.
@adactio woah is that built into angular???
@adactio How’d you get your hands on my phone? =D
@adactio Yay! Joining the mainstream! The very foundation of the web!
@adactio join the collective!
@adactio the web is dead…
@seb_ly I don’t think so, no. I think the message has been handcrafted.
@adactio “Join the mainstream.”
@adactio “Upgrade your browser (not because it is outdated but because we can’t build for the actual Web)”
@adactio Weird, it does load on my iPhone in Opera Mini. Is that just device-specific or you get the same result on everything?
@PetraGregorova Which website are you talking about?
@adactio Ooops indeed…
@PetraGregorova No, I was looking at a site built with AngularJS.
@adactio gotcha. Obviously, I need my ☕️! 😁
@adactio is that really because of AngularJS, or because a lazy developer didn’t use it well?
@adactio You’re being thorough, eh?
@adactio Ah the good old Desire HD. 2Kg of unibody aluminium & glass
@adactio Reviewed a site (using Angular) that lost lots of traffic from Mini users. Guess the fix. Rhymes with ‘rendering on the smerver’.
@nhoizey I would love to see an example of a site built with AngularJS that works in Opera Mini.
@adactio I’m not trying to defend AngularJS, which I don’t use anyway, just being curious… 😉
@adactio SORRY LOOKS LIKE YOU ARE TRYING TO LOOK AT TEXT PICTURES SORRY OUR TEXT AND PICTURES ARENT READABLE ON YOUR TEXT AND PICTURE READER
@adactio probably not caused by angular though; just bad development
@adactio You talk last year on incremental enhancement has helped drive a ton of my development this year to prevent this kind of thing :)
@adactio Not a big fan of broken software. And this is broken.
@odonnell004 Wow! Thank you—that means a lot to me.
@mike_tempest I’d love to see any site built with AngularJS that works on Opera Mini.
@adactio yikes. That’s a bad one.
@adactio Pah, who cares about Opera Mini? Who wants to sell to India: 20% of the world’s population with an economy growing 6.3%? Hippies.
@adactio this is so ’90s
